The Cummins 6BTA5.9 series marine engine is a 6-cylinder in-line, 5.9-liter four-stroke engine with a 102 mm bore and 120 mm stroke. The DCEC series marine main engine is equipped with a Weifu fuel pump and RSV governor. The prime power range of the DCEC 6BT5.9 series marine main engine is from 120 HP to 150 HP.

Cummins marine main engines come in different configurations, each with varying power output. The engine model name includes codes indicating its configuration: “T” for turbocharged engine, “TA” for turbocharged with water-air intercooler, and “TAA” for turbocharged with air-air intercooler.
