The Cummins 6CTA8.3 series marine auxiliary engine is a 6-cylinder in-line, 8.3-liter four-stroke engine with a 114mm bore and 135mm stroke. Equipped with a BYC fuel pump and GAC electronic governor, this series offers versatile performance. For 50Hz generator sets (1500RPM), the prime power range of the DCEC 6CTA8.3 series marine auxiliary engine is from 115 kW to 155 kW. For 60Hz generator sets (1800RPM), the prime power range extends from 129 kW to 175 kW.

DCEC marine auxiliary engines come in various configurations denoted by codes in the engine model name. “T” signifies a turbocharged engine, “TA” indicates turbocharged with water-air intercooler, and “TAA” means turbocharged with air-air intercooler. These engines are designed for both heat exchanger cooling and radiator cooling, serving marine main generators and marine emergency generators. Additionally, for emergency generator set applications, customers can opt for a dual starter motor system, providing both electric and spring starter motors as per international classifications.

All DCEC marine auxiliary engines feature a dry-type exhaust system, including a dry-type exhaust manifold and dry-type turbocharger. We offer upgrading services for water-cooled exhaust systems, transforming dry-type exhaust systems into water-cooled ones, which are frequently requested for passenger boat projects.

Fuel System

The Bosch in-line fuel pump operates at high injection pressures, promoting cleaner combustion and lower emissions.

Cooling System

Options include a single-loop keel cooling system or an engine-mounted heat exchanger for simplified installation. An optional fan drive is available for radiator applications.

Air System

The Cummins turbocharger is optimized for marine applications and features a wastegate for exceptional transient response. Additionally, it includes a marine-grade air filter.

Engine Design

Equipped with a standard capacity (18.9 L [20 qt.]) marine-grade oil pan, with optional spin-on Cummins filters available.

Exhaust System
